Exploration Meeting
It is important to talk to a variety of people and ask lots of questions. If you decide you are serious about living here, you can request an “Exploration Meeting” with a few members of the community. The purpose of an Exploration Meeting is to create a forum for you to ask your questions and discuss your concerns. In addition to whatever questions you already have, we suggest the following as a way to get a lot of information about living here.
The first two questions are directed to you:
- What are you hoping to get out of living at Cascadia?
- What do you look forward to being able to offer?

The remaining questions are for you to ask of Cascadians. Note that these questions will get answered differently by different people, and the answers will vary over time. That is part of the fun of living here!
- What challenges do you experience living here?
- What do you love about living here?
- How have you adjusted to living in a small space?
- How much socializing do you do?
- What does socializing at Cascadia look like?
- How does Cascadia Commons accommodate special needs?
- What is it like raising kids in the community?
- What is it like to have pets here?
- How much time does living at Cascadia take for you?
- How do you balance your personal needs with the needs of the community?
- What are some of the reasons people have left Cascadia?
- How do you deal with upsets with your neighbors?
You can, of course, ask these questions of anyone at anytime! But if you’d like a few people’s undivided attention for a concentrated period of time, an Exploration Meeting is definitely the way to go.
